Earth laughs in flowers... Ralph Waldo Emerson

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.

Getting to Know You!!!

GettingtoknowYOU

I am joining in on this weeks linky party...Getting to Know You! Melanie at Southern Comfort in a Northern Life has been participating and I thought it looked like fun so here I go...

The questions...

1. The most expensive thing hanging in my closet is.....? I have a thing for shoes and handbags. Good shoes and handbags. Stuart Weitzman...Prada...Louis Vuitton...all things I shouldn't buy! Does that count?

2. Have you ever played a team sport? My parents made me play softball one season and I hated it! I always took ballet and some sort of dance...much more my speed!

3. If you were a bug, what kind would you be? A dragonfly...I have a thing for dragonflies...I have images of them everywhere!

4. Where on your body is the worst place to get sunburned? My chest. I once had third degree burns there and it still freckles there now when I tan!

5. Are you happy? Absolutely!!! I serve a wonderful Lord and He has blessed me with a beautiful life! It is by no means perfect...but I LOVE IT!!!

6. People are always abbreviating..are there any abbreviations that make your skin crawl when people use them? I got a on a kick of saying OMG...I made my own skin crawl:(! I think I have kicked the habit...I pray that I have kicked the habit!

7. Do you love where you live..or could you live anywhere?I love where I live...but dream of someday having a historical cottage in Fredericksburg, Texas. We look every time we visit there...someday...

8. What, if any, extreme measures do you go to to keep yourself from overeating when you're full? What's full?...just kidding! I love food and I love to eat! Life is short...I say ENJOY!!!

Keely is our darling hostess today. Be sure and pop over to her site and check out the other participants.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!

Lots of Love!!!

Cathy

You really have some expensive shoes and bags. I like good quality stuff, too but haven't spent on those brands. I like food too and I am with you....enjoy! Even though I do need to lose weight.

How fun to know a bit more about you ( and your shoe/handbag obsession). :)

Thanks for reminding me about Fredericksburg... I will jot that down for two weeks from now.

We are spending next weekend in Surfside. Do you ever go? It used to be messy, but everything has gotten nice and pretty after the hurricane. Let's just hope that oil spill doensn't ruin it again.

Hi Cathy, what great answers! I wish I had some Prada in my closet...lol. Thanks for your sweet comments on my yard and patios! We are really enjoying everything right now...before it gets too hot! I have been trying to talk my hubby into doing more landscaping around the patio with the firepit...but darnit he said no! He just built the garden so I guess I should be happy with that! hehe! Maybe next year...

I hope you found a permanent home for your rooster arrangement! I added a few more items to my Etsy store...mainly necklaces. Take care, Kristen

Cathy ~ A lovely way to start my day! Thank you for sharing YOU with us, today, on your beautiful blog. I get e-mails a few times a year with questions like these and it is fun to re-examine them from time to time. Sometimes I find that my answers change, which means I'm not getting stale, I guess : ) Have a wonderful week! xx P&H

That was cute! I see that we have the sports thing in common. I danced and cheered instead of going the sports route. Now that I have boys, I am at least enjoying watching sports.
Have a great day!

Dear Cathy,
What a lovely way to start the week. No Prada in my closet but would love to own one. I have always collected purses...I DON'T THINK A LADY CAN HAVE TOO MANY PURSES...THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR PURSES.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE A BLUE BIRD...I HAVE NEVER HAD THE HONOR TO SEE ONE IN PERSON.
I loved reading your answers...that is something I would love to participate in.
