Outdoor Wednesday!!!

001dash 002

We have had two new arrivals here at our house in the last few weeks! This little guy is one of

them...his name is Dash...isn't he darling? He has the sweetest little personality and the most beautiful

coloring. I couldn't get a good picture of the other little one but his name is Doc. This is where they

will be living when they are able to leave their mothers. This part of our property is covered in

sunflowers. I wanted to get closer for a better picture but it was way too muddy. I love the old rusty

gate...my husband wants to replace it with a new one but this one has so much character...rust;)...it

just screams Texas horse ranch...don't you think? Dash and Doc will be joining our other Paint

horses...who were way too shy to pose for the camera. We are quickly becoming a Texas cliche...now

all we need are longhorns for the front of the truck;)...oh my!

Happy Outdoor Wednesday Everyone!!!

Lots of Love!!!

Cathy

I am linking with Susan at A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday. Be sure and stop by and

check out all of the fun!

Cathy, I did not know you had a horse ranch. I have always wanted horses, but just never happened. Now if I ride very long my knees hurt. I still like to look at horses though. Your new one is very cute. How awesome to have a field of sunflowers.

Okay, I'm going to try this again. I tried to leave a comment earlier, but it didn't go through for some reason. I didn't know you had horses. Dash is just sooo cute. He's going to be a beautiful adult horse. I totally agree with you about the gate. A new one wouldn't have nearly so much charm. laurie

How precious, Cathy! And to have two of them. Love your sunflowers. We used to have a farmer who had land nearby our development and he would do a whole field of sunflowers. People would stop to take pictures ~ amateur and professional photographers both. Unfortunately, that field is an over 55 community now.

Oh how precious! I'm confused..is this your place in town or in the Hill Country? I always thought...or assumed you were in a neighborhood. How goofy of me.

What beauties!

I love your gate, too, by the way...

Cathy~Mille Fleur said...

Our home is in the city...right in the big fat middle of it;)! This place is about 45 minutes north of town...we keep the horses there and hubby gets to play cowboy and rancher;)!

I hope that clears up the confusion:)!

Your new babies are beautiful and your field of sunflowers are breath taking. My hubby planted a field of sunflowers for me last year at our farm (our weekend getaway) and we even did a family photo for our Christmas card in front of them. Such a lovely blog and I am putting you on my favorites.

Awwwww, what a sweetie little Dash is. We have a little donkey just about Dash's size here. I am still struggling with stinkin' shingles for over two months now and have been ordered not to do anything until I heal up. Yeah, like it's easy for me to sit still the busiest time of the year on the Ponderosa! I just had to drop by to see what you've been up to. Shhhhh....I won't tell if you won't!

Take care, God bless and have a glorious summer day!!!

Hi there dear Cathy,
I hope all is well in your life. Dash is just precious...I used to have a horse years ago, and have always had a soft spot in my heart for them!
I've always thought of them as a symbol of strength and beauty.
The field of sunflowers is just awesome too! How wonderful for you to have this beautiful place to get away to and enjoy!

I think of you often sweet friend!
Take care!

I didn't know you guys had horses!! I would love to see photos of the paints - it's too bad they are camera shy. Dash is so cute!

We never had horses growing up, but we got to ride the neighbors horses. I loved horses but all we had were a bunch of cattle!!! My brother tried to ride one of the bulls and he ended up with a lot of bruises and scrapes!!

If you get the longhorns for the truck, you've got to hang an evergreen wreath on them at Christmas!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Cathy! Here's a link I used as a basis for my flower pot man:
http://www.move.com/home-garden/gardening/garden-landscape-ideas/pot-people.aspx
I had to do a little tweaking to make mine stand. Also, I spaced out the little pots in his arms and legs by wedging a cork in sideways instead of using moss the way they did. I'm sure your hubby wil figure it out! Enjoy! Happy Sunday!...hugs...Debbie

Hey Cathy, that was said with my Southern accent since I am drinking a glass of sweet tea right now. We do seem to be thinking along the same lines on so many things don't we. Same name same pitchers in kiwi no less. Thank you for always leaving sweet and fun comments on my post, I always love seeing you there, Happy Sunday,Kathysue
PS Off to plant some flowers on the front porch before it gets too beastly hot.
