It's a Barn Chick Party!!!

47180004 Buggy Barn in Fred    Stonewall in Fred47180007chick2

I'm late again! It's kind of funny since I am never late in real life...just in blog life;)! I am joining sweet Karen at Brayton Homestead Interiors for her Barn Chicks party. Most of you that know me well know that I have a slight obsession with living in a cottage in the country. For a while we toyed with the idea of building a little cottage in Fredericksburg,Texas. While we were in the planning stages we took some pics of places that we wanted to replicate...vintage barns and homesteads that pepper the landscape of the hill country. I thought these would be perfect for today.

Be sure and visit Karen and the other"chicks" to see all of the goings on;)!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Lots of Love!!!

Cathy

It would be so much fun to build a barn, cottage style, in the hill country.
We had a barn growing up. We would sit in the hay door at the top and hang our legs out and just hope that dad didn't catch us!!!

I love your barns and your baby chickee!

There is nothing quite like living in a cottage in the country, Cathy! Hubby and I bought a small farm five years ago and love waking up each day to the sights and sounds of nature.

Hope you find that special place of your own.

By the way, love your barn pics. Come for a visit, and you can see the ones I found while visiting New England.

Oh Cathy, I love all of the barns. I always wanted to find one and turn it into a house. My dearest friend in the whole world use to live in Fredricksburg and they restored a Sunday House. It was so pretty and they did such a fantastic job that it was shown in several magazines years ago. I got to stay in their guest house above the barn, and what a treat that was.

I am so glad the Grace pictue brought back good memories. My children grew up with this hanging in our breakfast room. It is always a symbol of home to them. I had it hanging in the hall since there are no walls in the kitchen and the mirror was on the wall before, but it does feel like home to have it back where it belongs. Mine is just a print and I know they are available on line. They are either call Grace or Our Daily Bread. I so hope you find one. It is the best picture in the whole world. Thanks for your great comments on the wall redo. Hugs, Marty

These barns are so beautifully rustic!

I would love to have a little cottage by a stream with a huge garden! Doesn't that sound so romantic? I would also need a porch and a swing and a gardener and pool boy.... ooops did I say that outloud? Wonderful to have dreams!

Hi Cathy, it's good to be back! I've had a great summer, but it's time to get back in the groove and motivated again.

Chase loves his army men...he has about a million of them!lol...Right now they are all over the house, but I know the time is coming (soon) when he won't care about toys anymore...it makes me sad. Right now he's down to armymen and legos, that's about all he is in to.Oh...and xbox and computer games, but I'm sure he will stay interested in those. When school starts, he is going to be very limited on the games!

I hope you get to build your cottage someday...how exciting! I would love to have one too someday.

I made some rooster tassels but they all sold pretty quick. I will make more and e-mail you when they are done. You might be interested in one.

Have a great day! I better get in my room and get started on some stuff. Kristen
