A Couple of New Goodies!!!

DSC00081

DSC00082

DSC00083

I found the antique book at one of my favorite stores in McKinney, Texas called SMITTEN! I have talked about it before…it is a wonderful spot filled with even more wonderful goodies!  The paperweight on top is John Derian. It was a gift from my daughter and I ADORE it! The little flowers are so pretty and the perfect color for my family room…I love that she knows me so well;)!

It is sooooo cold here in Texas…we have been snowed in for 2 days and it is not looking any better for tomorrow! I am not complaining as I know so many of you are in much worse shape.  All of this cold has me dreaming of warmer spring days…maybe soon;)?

Stay safe and warm out there sweet friends!!!

Lots of Love!!!

Cathy

I love old books. I love reading old books even better! We love going to McKinney. Such a beautiful town. Is McKinney close to you? We're about 4 hrs away. What fun it would be to meet there sometime! Hmmm! Something to think on.

The book is gorgeous...as well as the paper weight. I'm almost to the point of cabin fever...been cooking the past 2 days to stay busy and keep my mind occupied. :-) Would be nice to live closer and share a cup of coffee!

Stay warm ~

Adore the paperweight. As I listen to the cold winds howling outside, your paperweight reminds me that spring is not that far away...let's hope so.

The paperweight is beautiful. I almost bought a book w/ a very similar cover recently, and now, seeing yours, I regret that I didn't. Enjoy the snow, and please keep it out there! We've had enough for one year! :)

Cathy I love older books the craftsmanship in the way they are made is so wonderful and you found a beauty. John Darian makes such lovely items. I have a tray of his, it is just for Tarjay but I love it. One of my closest lifelong friend lives in McKinney Texas. I am calling her tomorrow to see how she is fairing the snow. Keep warm and stay safe,Kathysue

I love old books, too and your daughter is a doll for getting you the neat paperweight!

I know you aren't used to the cold and snow, so in a way you do have it worse than us. Stay warm, Cathy!

What a beatifully intricate cover on that book, Cathy! The paperweight is so pretty, too! I know how you feel with the snow ~ hang in there. I've come to realize there is absolutely nothing we can do about it and I've just tried to take advantage of the days I wind up being home.

Don't you just love Kaci and Luann...and of course Robert? Their store is so beautiful and I'm not surprised you found such a wonderful book there.
Love the paperweight and J.Derian's work as a whole.
I'm starting to feel like I've been stuffed in the freezer with the frozen tv dinners and chicken! C'mon Spring.

Hi Cathy! I'm with you...I'm dreaming of warmer weather and spring flowers blooming. We just got hit with a snow storm here in Kansas but we were very lucky as we didn't get much snow. My heart goes out to all those who are suffering the aftermaths of this storm. I love your antique book and your paperweight. I used to sell handmade paperweights in my store in British Columbia...they were made in Scotland. I've always wanted one for myself...I guess I should have kept one when I had the store! OH well maybe one day I'll find one I can't live without. I hope you have a wonderful day and keep warm!
