Earth laughs in flowers... Ralph Waldo Emerson

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.

They’re Blooming!!!

blooms

My paperwhites are still in hiding but the amaryllis have bloomed!!! Aren’t they GORGEOUS!!!

The best thing about them…aside from their beauty is that they were a gift from the young man

that works at the nursery that I frequent. He ran out to my car one day and handed me the bulbs

and said Feliz Navidad!!! Too sweet!!! Angels are among us everywhere!!!

Lots of Love!!!

Cathy

What a sweet thing for that young man to do. I've never tried forcing bulbs.. going to see if I can't find some. I'm loving the stripes, reminds me of candy..they are beautiful. What a bright spot they've added to your home. hugs ~lynne~

Those are beautiful. Are they grown inside or outside. I don't think we have those around here.

It's funny how exciting it is to watch them bloom.

So lovely and lucky you to receive the bulb as a gift from that young man. I use to give one to my Mom and her sisters each Christmas. I gave each one a different color and they would have a race to see whose would bloom first. It made for good phone chatter among the sisters when the weather was snowy and made them think of Spring. So now when I see a beautiful amaryliss I think of my Mom and Aunts and smile:)

Cathy,
Oh I LOVE amaryllis, one of my favorite things about Christmas is the paperwhites & amaryllis. This year I blew it tho. I did my paperwhites, but I had trouble locating good amaryllis bulbs so I never got around to it. Yours is wonderful. Do you put them in the garden when they are done blooming? I do, & they surprise me every spring when they poke their little heads out. Lisa

Oh those are gorgeous! Well worth the wait! I'm glad you stopped by. Since I moved my blog list to it's own page I feel like I've been missing people. I'm thinking about moving it back so I don't miss out on so much. I love the photo of the fence in the snow.
Hugs,
Dawn
