Earth laughs in flowers... Ralph Waldo Emerson

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.

I have one too! I've been watching grow right before my eyes. Looks like it will have two blooms. This is my first time to have an amaryllis so I'm very excited!

Painting my dining room today and thinking of blog posts as I work. :)

Happy New Year Cathy,
I can wait to see the bloom pics. My father-in-law loved the amarylis. He would have one ready every year. He bought one for me, but I did not have much luck with it. Such a good memory, since he has since passed.
It was great catching up on your blog, it was great as always.

You know, Cathy, I have never forced blooms. I know. Sad, isn't it? Another entry on the bucket list. :)

Love the picture even without the bloom :)

I too am waiting for my amaryllis to bloom. Are you going to try to keep it for next year? I have decided to try and see what happens. I have never had this type of flower before but the people at the garden center assured me it would bloom again next year.

I start paperwhites on New Year's day as a tradition -- it's always fun to see the growth each day -- nothing more enjoyable than something blooming mid-winter!

I thought I was the only one who didn't get blooms until after Christmas!!!

This is fun!

I received one for Christmas one year and we planted it outside. Is that a bad idea? It blooms every year and has grown.
